Asma Shah is a seasoned audit professional with over a decade of experience in public accounting, specializing in assurance services for publicly listed and private entities. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in Canada and holds a Master of Accounting from Brock University as well as a Bachelor of Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Asma began her career with one of the Big Four accounting firms, where she developed a strong foundation in audit methodologies, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. In 2015, she joined Kreston GTA LLP, where she is a senior member of the Public Company Audit Group. In this role, she leads complex audits under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and provides expert guidance on regulatory and financial reporting issues. Her industry experience spans from Financial Services, Private Equity, Manufacturing, Mining, Healthcare, and Real Estate.
Asma is widely recognized for her technical proficiency in IFRS, effective team leadership, and client-centric approach. Her expertise includes managing audits of public entities with operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Having lived in Germany, Pakistan, and Malaysia before permanently settling in Canada, she brings a global perspective to her work. Her cross-cultural experience enhances her ability to work with diverse teams and international clients.
Outside of her professional role, she enjoys travelling locally and internationally with her three children. As a family, they frequently visit amusement parks, always on the lookout for the next thrill ride adventure.
